A more beautiful Brabant inspired by Van Gogh
This year a number of important steps are being taken that contribute to the significance of Vincent van Gogh as an icon and source of inspiration. To this end, organizations from different sectors and disciplines across Brabant are working closely together. Especially now, in a period with many social challenges, this collaboration is leading to valuable results. For example, the public can learn more about Vincent's time in Brabant, thanks to a new Van Gogh exhibition and thematic walking routes. Van Gogh also serves as a source of inspiration for the partners of Van Gogh National Park i.o. In it, municipalities, the province of North Brabant, water boards, nature, agricultural and heritage organizations, tourism and recreation and the business community work together to create a strong business climate and a vital, green living environment. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh, with creativity, guts, innovative solutions and imagination, heritage is being developed here and the landscape of the future shaped.

The North Brabant Museum will open a new comprehensive presentation Van Gogh in Brabant on March 26, 2021. Paintings, letters, photographs, animations and other objects will tell about Van Gogh's early artistry and his connection with his beloved Brabant. The museum's own collection of original paintings is supplemented by changing long-term loans. Thus an interesting selection from Van Gogh's Brabant oeuvre is always on display. A richly illustrated, interactive timeline tells the story of Vincent's Brabant period from an art historical perspective. With this permanent exhibition, aimed at a broad audience, The North Brabant Museum underlines the importance of Vincent's cultural heritage for the museum and for Brabant.

On March 30, more than fifty partners from Brabant will sign a collaboration agreement ratifying their contribution to and commitment to Van Gogh National Park i.o. In Van Gogh NP i.o. municipalities, the province of North Brabant, water boards, nature, agriculture and heritage organizations, tourism and recreation and the business community work together to create a healthy and green living environment. With beautiful nature and vital farmland in the middle of an economically powerful region. With greenery right into the cities and villages. With the same courage and imagination as Van Gogh, together they are building the landscape of the future.

On March 30, 2021, the annual Salon Van Gogh will take place. Vincent van Gogh's birthday will be the occasion for a high-profile talk show hosted by Cornald Maas. This year's topic of conversation will be the developments in Van Gogh National Park i.o. The table guests will be invited to share with the audience their passion for landscape, nature and heritage and the relationship with Vincent's love of nature and his willful urge for innovation.

On April 1, the fifth edition of the Landscape Triennial will kick off in Van Gogh National Park i.o. in North Brabant. The theme 'High Green - Innovating the Landscape' will highlight ten concrete, internationally relevant landscape tasks in Vincent's native region. Local parties, in collaboration with experts, residents and other stakeholders around the landscape, have transformed these ten tasks into ten diverse Landscape Laboratories where experts use their imagination to tackle current social issues. The outcomes make a lasting contribution to the development of Van Gogh NP i.o.

The North Brabant Museum and Brabants Landschap have entered into a special collaboration. On the estates Out Herlaer and Haanwijk, art and nature are connected in an active and permanent way. In the coming years, internationally prominent artists will be invited to reflect on this special landscape and add a permanent sculpture to it. In doing so, they will be guided by nature, the monuments present and the history of the landscape. Art and nature can reinforce and influence each other's meaning. Buiten Museum Herlaer wants its visitors to look differently. Differently to art and differently to nature.
