Today the new building of Museum Vincentre in Nuenen reaches its highest point. A beautiful milestone in the development of the heritage site into a museum with more exhibition space, improved facilities and a completely new exhibition.
Van Gogh experts have declared the Dutch Reformed Church (Trouwkerkje) in Etten-Leur Noord a Van Gogh Monument. This extends the number of official Van Gogh Monuments in Brabant to 40.
Today the construction of the expansion of the Vincentre museum in Nuenen started. The Province of North Brabant, the Municipality of Nuenen, ASML, Van Gogh Brabant and the construction team of the Vincentre Museum gave the green light.
As part of a financing plan for the Van Gogh heritage in Brabant, the Province has provided a loan of 2.5 million euros. This will allow the Vincentre Museum to begin its planned expansion in early 2022.
Three Van Gogh organizations will collaborate on the social, cultural, economic and scenic qualities of Brabant with Van Gogh as their guide and inspiration.
Museum Vincentre in Nuenen presents the final design for the expansion, including the accompanying garden. The design is inspired by the time Van Gogh lived and worked in Nuenen.
In March of this year a number of important steps will be taken which will contribute to the significance of Vincent van Gogh as an icon and source of inspiration. To this end organisations from various sectors and disciplines throughout Brabant are working closely together.
